Essex Liberal Opens Campaign Office

Essex Liberal candidate Audrey Festeryga has opened her campaign office with less than 30 days until the election.

It's located in downtown Amherstburg, a town where Festeryga says she gets a lot of support.

If elected on October 19, Festeryga says she'll be a voice for local farmers, veterans and the region's economy.

"I think the voters understand it's time for real change," she says.

While knocking on thousands of doors, Festeryga says nobody has expressed concern about the Liberal plan to have a deficit.

"The people that I talk to at the door, they realize just like in their home, there is a time for good debt. Interest rates are at historically low levels," she says. "A $10-billion debt in a multi-trillion dollar economy is a very, very small debt and it's half the debt (Stephen) Harper's been facing."

Conservative Jeff Watson, NDP candidate Tracey Ramsey and Jennifer Alderson with the Green Party are also running in Essex.
