Crash Tears Up Neighbourhood (GALLERY)

Residents of Windsor's Victoria Ave. got a rude awakening Sunday morning when a car drove through a residential lawn.

Neighbour Joe McParland says he heard a loud crash around 3:30am. When he went outside, he found a vehicle had driven up on a nearby lawn and driveway in the 1550-block of Victoria Ave.

McParland says after calling 911, he and other neighbours found two men in their early 20's step out of the car, clearly in shock.

"They had taken out a newly planted tree on the front lawn, and there was a 700 lbs decorative boulder that rested on her property, it was carried and spun onto another neighbour's lawn," he says.

Police, fire and EMS crews responded to the scene.

While McParland says the men showed no visible injuries, they were taken to hospital for assessment and later released.

McParland adds another parked car about seven houses away was also sideswiped.

Windsor police say one man has been charged with careless driving.
