Second Anniversary Of Hospital Reorganization

"There's always work to do," says Windsor Regional Hospital's CEO responding to the question on the second anniversary of hospital reorganization in Windsor-Essex.

David Musyj admits he's learned a lot since the hospital took over the Ouellette Campus in downtown Windsor, and staff have worked hard to make sure the patient experience is seamless between facilities.

Although there have been a few hiccups, Musyj says patients have helped improve the experience by providing feedback to hospital staff.

"We have patients on the committees when staff are working on these issues," he says. "Some have experienced differences at either campus and are now providing insight on how that can be improved."

He considers it a dress rehearsal as the region continues to make plans to build a new acute care hospital near the city's airport.

"If we can get the operation standardized here, they will be used as a template for both the Met and Ouellette campus when we have to move into one site."

Musyj says staff celebrated the anniversary by holding a 4 km walk between the Met and Ouellette campuses in September.
