Victims Suffer $1M Investor Fraud

Someone claiming to be a financial investor allegedly duped five victims out of more than $1-million.

Windsor police began receiving several fraud-related complaints in March.

Investigators say the suspect claimed to be a business partner who makes financial investments that yield a 10-12% return.

After gaining their trust, police say he convinced five victims to invest their money with him.

Police say none of the funds were ever invested.

A 53-year-old Windsor man has been charged with $5,000.

Anyone with information is asked to call Windsor police 519-255-6700 ext. 4330 or anonymously Crime Stoppers.
