LaSalle Mayor Ken Antaya expects to have his town's 2016 budget finalized by noon.
He says taxpayers should expect an increase less than 2%.
"What we're not going to do is we're not going to ignore our responsibilities to the future. We're not going to say, by delaying a capital project, and shove it off to the back of the line. That back of the line is too long," says Antaya.
The LaSalle mayor says fitting the town with LED lights and the Todd Lane reconstruction are costing about $8-million, total.
He's curious to see how the $200-million levy will affect the Essex County budget, but is happy to be able to deliver what he considers a very reasonable municipal budget to his constituents.
