The CEO of Goodwill in Essex-Kent-Lambton is confident area stores won't be affected by the cash flow problems that have forced 16 branches in the GTA, northern and eastern Ontario to close.
"We're thriving," says Kevin Smith. "Please continue to keep donating to our organization and we'll continue doing the great work that we've been doing for the past, almost 85 years."
Smith tells BlackburnNews.com there isn't a threat of the local stores closing any time soon.
"If anything we're looking for people to come and work in our organization," says Smith. "We are very confident our local Goodwills are not directly impact by this at all. Every Goodwill is autonomous and is governed by its own board of directors."
Two offices and 10 donation centres have also been closed affecting more than 430 workers.
