Protest Against Health Care Cuts

A group of around 50 protesters braved the cold over the noon hour to show the provincial government their displeasure over continued health care cuts.

The provincial government is currently holding pre-budget consultations at Caesars Windsor.

Natalie Mehra with the Ontario Health Coalition says the Liberal government has ignored their budget submissions for eight years.

"We have the fewest nurses per patient of almost any other province in the country, our services have been cut more, patients are paying more out of pocket as a result of the cuts and they are just not listening," says Mehra.

The provincial government is taking written submissions from residents for the 2016 budget until January 31.
