Detroit Auto Show Sees Boost (Gallery)

This year's annual auto show in Detroit attracted thousands more than in 2015 and one very special guest -- U.S. President Barack Obama.

A total of 815,575 tickets were purchases this year compared to 808,775 last time around at the Cobo Centre.

During the two-day press preview more than 5,000 journalists from 60 countries attended the North American International Auto Show.

There was a lot to see with 61 vehicle introductions, almost 90% of those being worldwide reveals. One of the most anticipated reveals, especially for Windsor, was the locally-made Chrysler Pacifica.

Automakers, suppliers and partners pumped about $200-million into the show floor this year as more than 70% of the displays were newly designed.
