Teens Warned After Guitars Stolen

Two teens got off with a warning after breaking into an elementary school and stealing three guitars from the music room, Windsor police say.

Officers were dispatched to Hugh Beaton Public School on Chilver Rd. Friday at around 2:45am.

After searching the building they found nobody inside, no damage and nothing appeared to be missing.

Staff later found three guitars had been taken.

Police say they were later able to identify a 13-year-old suspect and learned the guitars were at the house of a 17-year-old suspect.

Officers say after speaking with both teens and their parents, they were both "very apologetic and remorseful."

The stolen instruments were returned.

Windsor police issued a Youth Criminal Justice Act warning to both minors.
