The Canadian Union of Public Employees is condemning the City of Windsor's intention to reintroduce a motion, talking about contracting out caretaker work.
A similar motion was shot down by council back in November, and CUPE Local 543 President Mark Vander Voort says it's ridiculous to have to go through this again.
"We can't have people just reintroducing stuff because they didn't get a desired result," adds the union boss. "There was full debate [the first time around], it was in the media, there was much discussion, both sides got to present -- I thought it was settled."
Vander Voort believes the city's reintroducing this issue in order to disrupt contract negotiations which are set for September.
He hopes that council continues to support his members, and again votes against a report looking into the contracting out of work again on Monday.
There are 49 regular part-time care taking positions and 51 full time positions throughout the City of Windsor.
