City Bus Is Cheap For Students

Transit Windsor hopes to boost ridership, and maybe make regular riders out of students that don't normally ride public transit this week.

It's offering all elementary, secondary and post-secondary students a break on bus fare, provided they have a valid student identification card.

Normally, the fare is $2.75, but for this week, it'll be $1 for those students.

Manager of Operations, Gary Brown, says ridership is typically down during the March Break.

"It gets our bus a little fuller during the slower time and also, gives them the opportunity to save some money if they're going to visit friends or going shopping."

The promotion started Sunday, March 13 and finishes with the last bus Saturday, March 19.
