Unique Brewpub Arriving In LaSalle

Windsor-Essex is about to be introduced to its first brewpub and cidery.

Wayne Ormshaw, Lee Vinten are taking over the old Michigan Roadhouse on Malden Rd. in LaSalle, and turning it into O'Vinshaw's Brewpub.

Ormshaw plans to offer a full food menu, along with 12 taps, half of which will be their own beer and cider creations.

"We've had a lot of success with different ciders. We even have a couple fall ciders," he says. "So, people who like Strongbow or Somersby -- we can offer something a bit different for them."

Ormshaw explains that he started home brewing back in England about 20 years ago. When he moved to Canada, he and Vinten became friends and have been brewing for about seven years.

The owners are currently renovating the inside of the old Roadhouse while working on a menu with Bill Deslippe of Windsor's Smashed Apple Gourmet Catering.

The business is also in the midst of hiring, as it's aiming to open in late April or early May. Anyone interested in applying, can visit ovinshaws.com.
