Councillor Rohrer Laid To Rest

Tecumseh Town Councillor Mike Rohrer was laid to rest this afternoon.

The two hour service at Good Shepherd Parish was full of family, friends, town staff and neighbours.

Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara says it was a wonderful tribute to a wonderful man.

"He was well loved, liked, admired, he discharged his responsibilities with enthusiasm and passion and because of that we are far richer today by having him for a short period of time than not to have had Michael sit around the council table," says McNamara.

Tecumseh councillors and the Tecumseh Fire Department stood in an honour guard as the casket was brought out of the church. The service was a followed by a private family procession to Heavenly Rest Cemetery.

Rohrer was elected to council in 2014. He leaves behind a wife and three children. He passed away suddenly on May 28, 2016 at the age of 44.
