The Windsor Police Service is reassuring the community after a dramatic shooting outside a busy Tim Hortons this week.
Deputy Chief Vince Power says officers responded quickly, and while the investigation is ongoing, they don't expect to make any more arrests.
He says crime in the city hasn't spiked.
"We have had a couple of incidents this year, but comparison to our five-year averages, we're certainly down," Power says referring to crime statistics. "[However] one shooting is too much."
Police arrested a 20-year-old man Thursday.
The shooting, near Walker Rd. and Wyandotte St. E, prompted a hold and secure at four schools in Walkerville. Police also roped off a home on Monmouth Rd. between Niagara St. and Richmond St.
The victim was shot in the abdomen and after surgery remains in stable condition in hospital.
