Students Design Bridge Mock-Ups

If you could design the proposed Gordie Howe International Bridge what would it look like?

University of Windsor engineering students got the chance to test their design and engineering skills in a competition held in the third year class.

"This year we know that the Windsor area is very excited with the new bridge.  That's why we need to challenge the students and push their imagination to come up with a creative design of how they would like to see this bridge," says Professor Amr El Ragaby.  "We believe this bridge will serve the generation more for the coming 50-70 years so we'd like to see if they had a chance to design the bridge how they would want it to look like from a creative point of view and a function point of view."

Executives from the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority were on hand to judge the student's designs.
