Olympic athlete Noelle Montcalm returned to where her track and field career began Thursday morning.
She spoke to students at W.J. Langlois Elementary School where she attended and began track and field at the age of 12.
"It's something that I wanted to do. To come inspire and speak to the kids just like I had inspiration and motivation, and models to look up to. To come here back to the building where it kind of all started for me, it's something special," says Montcalm.
Montcalm talked to students about surrounding yourself with positive people who encourage and believe in you.
"Just to persevere through any struggle or hardship. Everyone has them and it may seem in the moment difficult to overcome but with the right support team anything that you set your mind to is truly possible," says Montcalm.
Since returning from Rio Montcalm has taken some time to reflect on her career.
"I don't want the journey to stop. I'm having a great time with it, I still love the sport and next year is a big year as well. It's the World Championships so I'm going to be looking to train and compete and represent my country again," says Montcalm.
