Getting stranded in the flooding yesterday that saw cars stalled in Windsor and Tecumseh isn't fun — just ask Kevin Flynn from Windsor.
"Let's see: an hour and a half in the rain and you've got to go to the bathroom and you don't know when the CAA is coming," says Flynn.
He had to bail from his water logged SUV near Tecumseh Mall by Lauzon Rd. after his vehicle got stuck at the flooded intersection as he was leaving the gym.

"I've driven this a thousand times, you don't think about it. Then, all of a sudden I got half way and the point of no return. Do you back up or do you keep going?" says Flynn. "I assumed it would just stay at the same level. Wrong."
Flynn was left standing in the rain as he waited for road side assistance to get his vehicle out of the flooded street after heavy rains hit the region yesterday and Wednesday night.
He says it was a bit unsettling to see water rushing into his vehicle.
"I never anticipated it being that deep and I thought, 'Well, I've got to get out of the car,'" says Flynn. "I started opening the driver's side [door] and the water's gushing in and I thought, 'Wait a minute.'"
The heavy rainfall — over 190 mm (7.5 inches) in Tecumseh and 80 mm (3.1 inches) in Windsor — led mayors in both communities to declare states of emergency.
