Students at the University of Windsor were treated to a sneak peak of Windsor ComiCon.
In partnership with student groups at the University Windsor, ComiCon brought vendors and artists to the university to expose students and staff to the world of comics.
Detroit artist Arvell Jones was on hand to answer questions and display his work. He's worked with Marvel and DC Comics and created the first female African American superhero, Misty Knight.
"I wanted to create a character that was fully well rounded, developed individual, not a two-dimensional character. A strong woman with her own ideas and her own independence," says Jones.

The character Misty Knight now appears on the Netflix show, Luke Cage.
"She's played by a local from the area, Simone Missick, and I'm so excited," says Jones.
He says he's pleased to be able to share the characters development with students at the University of Windsor.
"I enjoy meeting students and whatever their interests are I'm interested in hearing about it. I think you learn a lot from people coming up and stay trendy that way," says Jones.
Windsor ComiCon is being held at Caesars Windsor October 15-16, 2016.
