Local tourism efforts are being recognized provincially.
Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island and local tourism company WindsorEats are up for Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence in 2016.
TWEPI is up for the Ontario Culinary Tourism Leadership Award along with Tourism Oxford and City of Thunder Bay Tourism.
WindsorEats was named a finalist for the Ontario Culinary Tourism Experience Award for its Drinks of Walkerville walking tour. They are also a finalist for Tourism Innovator of the Year for the WindsorEats Traveller that allows them to showcase local products across the province. The company's co-founder Adriano Ciotoli is a finalist for Tourism Champion of the Year.

The Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence are a celebration of success and an opportunity to recognize those who have made significant contributions to Ontario’s tourism industry. These awards are jointly presented by the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario, the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation, and the Ontario Culinary Tourism Alliance.
