Charge Laid In Deadly Hwy 3 Collision

A 30-year-old Kingsville man is now facing careless driving charges after a fatal crash on Hwy. 3, back in April.

Diana Pepper, 67, of Leamington died in the multi-vehicle accident, which OPP say started when a pickup truck hauling a utility trailer slammed into the back of another vehicle, just east of Arner Townline in Essex.

That set off a chain reaction, sending two other cars into the highway's eastbound lanes where they were hit by oncoming traffic.

Six people ended up being taken to hospital.

Police say the accused was driving the pickup truck that afternoon.
