UPDATE: Hwy 3 In Leamington Reopened After Collision

The OPP has reopened a portion of Highway 3 in Leamington after being closed following an accident Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 2:30pm when a vehicle collided with a dump truck on the highway between County roads 34 and 31.  Both drivers were taken to hospital with minor injuries with no further word on their conditions.

The westbound lanes of Hwy. 3 reopened just after 3pm once the single vehicle was towed, but eastbound lanes stayed closed for several hours while the dump truck was removed from the ditch and hauled away, and cleanup could take place.

The entire stretch of road reopened around 10pm.

An investigation is on-going.
