Windsor Man Wins $100K Lottery

A Windsor man is $100,000 richer after scoring big with a lottery scratch ticket.

Dan Matte, a married father of three, says he had stopped to get gas in on his way home from Toronto when he bought the ticket.

"While at the gas station, I decided to pick up a couple of scratch tickets," says Matte in a media release. “Instant Mission: Money was the first ticket I scratched. At first I assumed I wouldn’t win anything but then I started to see that this ticket might be a winner. I checked the prize amount and saw so many zeros that I decided to run back into the store and use the ticket checker to be sure.”

Matte says he's already making plans for how he intends to spend his winnings.

“My favourite hobby is building custom motorcycles. It’s a family affair. My son and I love working on the bikes together. This win means more father and son time as we complete four bikes that have been waiting for my attention," he says. "My wife and I are definitely snowbirds. Mexico is our getaway - the Yucatan Peninsula to be specific. We will be sipping a few more drinks out of coconuts in the weeks and months ahead."

Instant Mission: Money is a $5 instant game that has eight top prizes of $100,000. The odds of winning a prize are one in 3.97.
