Police Release Photo Of Vehicle After Pedestrian Hit On Hwy. 401

The Ontario Provincial Police has released a photo of a vehicle believed to have struck and killed a pedestrian on Hwy. 401 back on December 6.

The 44-year-old Windsor man was struck in the eastbound lanes after he fell from the Lambton St./ Grand Maris Rd. W overpass late that night. His name has not been publicly released.

Investigators would like to speak with the driver of the vehicle, which is believed to be a newer model black Jeep Cherokee or something similar.

In a release to the media, police say "it's only a matter of time before investigators locate the vehicle that failed to remain at the scene of the accident."

Police are also reaching out to area auto body shops in the event the vehicle was brought in for repair.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Essex County OPP detachment at 519-723-2491 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
