A former warden of Essex County has passed away.
Rob Schmidt died Tuesday at the age of 69 with his family by his side.
In his life he was elected as a Councillor, Reeve and Mayor in Mersea Township and a Deputy Mayor in the Municipality of Leamington as well a Warden for Essex County.
According to his obituary Schmidt grew up on the family farm and farmed with his father. They also operated Schmidt Construction.
His funeral will be held at North Leamington United Mennonite Church on Friday December 30. For more information on the funeral service click here.
