Man Charged In Transformer Plant B&E

A Windsor man is facing multiple charges after allegedly breaking into a Hydro One Transformer Plant and stealing copper wire.

The fence around the plant was cut around 2am Wednesday morning and someone entered the site without authorization.

Police caught up with the suspect walking on a dead-end street just north of the transformer plant. He was arrested without incident and was allegedly found to be in possession of break and enter tools including a knife and flashlight.

The 29-year-old man is charged with break and enter, possession of break and enter tools, and two charges from a previous offence.

Windsor police warn a crime like this can be very dangerous and has resulted in the loss of lives in the past.
