Windsor's History Takes A Hit

Owner Beam Suntory says Canadian Club Heritage Centre in Windsor is closing at the end of the year.

The company says Canadian Club will continue to be produced at the Windsor distillery, offering the same high quality whisky it's been making for more than 150 years.

It also says public tours will continue through March 31st and the facility will remain available for all scheduled weddings through December 31st.

A company spokesperson tells BlackburnNews.com the facility is rented and it's not known what the owner of the building will do after December 31st.

Paula Oreskovich says a vast collection of art pieces and artifacts will continue to be used to help promote the brand’s rich history and heritage and to support the Windsor community.

She assures us that the commitment to the Windsor community is just as strong as ever and they're just refocusing investments to better cultivate the brand both locally and around the world.

Mayor Drew Dilkens is in Chicago to try and change their mind.
