The Vollmer Complex is getting a facelift after nearly ten years in operation.
LaSalle council approved just over $400,000 in upgrades including changes to the reception area, and facade improvements. The aim is to improve function of the facility and fix damages that have occurred over the last ten years.
"We're depending on our administration to make sure that we're upgrading it as much as we can. Because if you let maintenance go obviously a minor things turns into a major thing in a very short time," says Mayor Ken Antaya.
Antaya says some of the changes were contemplated in the original design but cut due to budget constraints.
Work will begin as soon as plans are complete and will be scheduled to minimize disruptions at the facility.
