Organizers are hoping to surpass last year's fundraising total at the 35th annual Easter Seals Telethon this Sunday.
Last year the telethon raised $209,000 for the organization that helps children with physical disabilities purchase equipment and live life to the fullest. Part of the funds will go towards giving kids the summer camp experience at the Easter Seals fully accessible camp program.
Telethon ambassador Morgan Bennett-Murphy says she's thrilled to give back to an organization that has given her so much in life.
"I remember when I was younger I was going to Toronto every couple months and Easter Seals helped us to afford the hotel costs, gas and food and it makes it a lot easier," says Bennett-Murphy.
The Easter Seals telethon is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the organization. It takes place at Central Park Athletics and airs on CTV from 10am-4pm. The organization invites the community to a public skate on both ice pads throughout the duration of the telethon. Admission is a donation of your choosing.
