The Green Party of Ontario wants to hear from people in Southwestern Ontario about issues facing their communities.
Mike Schreiner was in Windsor this week highlighting the Green Party approach to many issues facing people in Ontario from high hydro rates to school closures.
"The Green Party has been saying we should have a moritorium on school closures until the funding formula is fixed. Until we talk about ways our school boards can work together to save money to put that into classrooms," says Schreiner.
He wants to make sure residents know the green party has policies in all aspects of government, many of which have nothing to do with the environment.
"We're the party of small business, we're the only party calling for lowering payroll taxes on small businesses to help them create jobs," says Schreiner. "We're the party that is talking about investing in innovation and technology, clean tech, the economy, the future because we want to make sure Ontario is well positioned."
The Green Party currently does not hold any seats in the Ontario government. The next provincial election will be in spring of 2018.
"Our main focus is really what are the issues that people in Ontario want us to fight for that will make a difference in their lives today? But we're also talking to people about what do you want to see in a party's platform?"
