Helping Local Musicians Be Business Savvy

The music scene in Windsor is getting some extra support from the Windsor Essex Economic Development Corporation.

After a year long study, it has decided to create a Windsor-Essex Music Advisory Council to bolster local artists and help them with the business side of their careers.

Adam Castle with the corporation says one of its goal will be to increase communication between all players on the music scene.

"There's some amazing things going on in our city, but they are happening in silos and so we really want to make sure that everyone is getting the information, everyone is communicating so we can make those things bigger and leverage them," says Castle.

WEMAC is made up of musicians, producers, managers and representatives from other local art groups.
