Forty children from Big Brothers Big Sisters Windsor-Essex are getting free bikes and helmets thanks to a local business.
Waste Connections of Canada made the generous donation.
“A program the company has been developing and growing for the last 15 years is a Bike Build," says Steve McArthur, District Manager at Waste Connections of Canada (formerly Progressive Waste Solutions). "Our goal is to make a lasting memory for disadvantaged children by enabling them to experience the joy of receiving a new bike.
He says "funds raised from employees and suppliers are used to purchase unassembled bicycles and we then hold an event for our employees and their families to participate in building the bikes."
