Man Seen Allegedly Videotaping Children In Park

A LaSalle woman is hoping to put parents on high alert after she says she caught an unknown male allegedly taking pictures and videos of her children.

Around dusk on Mother's Day, Stacey H, who did not want her full name used, was at a park on Riverside Dr. W near Caron Ave. with her five children and her boyfriend when she saw an unknown man approach two of her daughters. She said it looked like he was engaged in a conversation with them, but when she looked closer he had his phone up and appeared to be recording.

She says the following encounter left her very uneasy.

"I go to turn around, and he is coming towards me. It looked like he was going to come right onto the equipment towards me, and I went over to talk to my boyfriend and I told him that this guy is making me feel really uncomfortable. As soon as the man saw my boyfriend, he turned away but stayed close by," says Stacey.

Stacey describes the the man as older, with grey hair shaved almost completely down, around 5'10" and of Asian descent with a tanned complexion.

"I felt extremely threatened.  I felt that my children were threatened.  There was just a big creep factor, if you want to say it that way," said Stacey.

Stacey called Windsor police and filed a report about the incident.

"They said that it was very concerning.  They took the pictures I had.  They took my statement. They said that they posted an internal bulletin, so they said that they're on high alert for this guy," says Stacey.

She says she won't be visiting again for a while, but wanted other parents to know about her encounter.
