Residents along Little River who are concerned they may have to remove docks and boat lifts from their property will get a chance to speak with City of Windsor administration and the Essex Region Conservation Authority.
A report that appeared before council Monday night stated that all residents living along the river would have to remove all infrastructure along the break wall to prevent further flooding. If approved residents would have 60 days to complete the work or the city would complete it for them and put the cost on their tax bill.
Councillor Joanne Gignac says she's received many calls from concerned citizens.
"Fair is fair and I think it's important to be able to sit down with the community and explain what the jurisdictional rights are, the concerns, and then work with them to make the changes that are needed," says Gignac.
Instead of approving the report Gignac requested that a public meeting be held as soon as possible.
