New Organization Helping People in Need Connect

After over two years of development, Windsor-Essex Compassion Care Community is launching its programs and initiatives.

The organization and its many partner agencies throughout the region are working to improve care for the elderly, disabled, and isolated residents in the community through networking.

Project coordinator Deborah Sattler says they want to fill the gaps of care and make connections to improve quality of life.

"A lot of the gaps are in that social connection, that practical help and that day-to-day understanding of the decisions I make that affect my health," says Sattler.

Sattler says they are in need of an infinite number of volunteers who can offer their services.

"It's very flexible and based on what people feel comfortable in being able to offer to their community and its based on what they uniquely feel are their talents and skills," says Sattler.

Currently, there are divisions of the organization in five communities including Windsor, Leamington, Kingsville, Lakeshore, and Tecumseh. Launch events are being held throughout the community from June 23-30.

To access care or to volunteer services call 519-974-2581 ext. 2420 or their website.

"Anybody that needs anything, anybody that can offer anything, our commitment is that we can find a way for you to connect with your community to make it work for you," says Sattler.
