With the temperature reaching the low 30s C, and feeling like 40 C with humidity, Monday, and only getting down to 21 C overnight, the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has issued a heat warning.
The agency says everyone is at risk from the heat, but especially older adults, infants and young children, as well as people who work or exercise in the heat.
Those with certain medical conditions are also being advised to take necessary precautions.
The health unit says you can prevent a heat illness simply by drinking lots of water, wearing a wide-brimmed hat and lightweight, loose-fitting clothing, or taking a cool shower or bath.
