A 16-year-old Windsor boy has been charged after a minivan struck another teenager, sending him to hospital with serious injuries.
The Windsor Police Service says on June 5 around 3:30pm, officers responded to Dominion Blvd. near McKay Ave., to find citizens tending to the teenaged boy in a nearby ditch. Police say the the 16-year-old, who had been struck by a vehicle, was conscious when he was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
He currently remains in hospital in stable condition.
Police shut down a section of Dominion Blvd. for several hours so the Accident Reconstruction Team and Forensic Identification Unit could process the scene. Officers also spoke with a driver of a gold Dodge Caravan, who was stopped at the scene.
As a result of a police investigation, a 16-year-old male driver has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm. His identity is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
