Local government representatives in Essex County held a Community Services and Career Expo in LaSalle Friday to let residents know what's available to them in the community.
MPP Tara Natyshak says they wanted to connect people and services and this seemed like the most efficient way to do it.
"A lot of times in our respective offices we have constituents come in asking about services and asking for direction. We can certainly point them in the right direction but it became apparent to us that there's not enough information out there about what exactly exists," says Natyshak.
Natyshak was on hand with MP Tracey Ramsey to answer questions and interact with residents.
There were 48 exhibitors at the expo including emergency services, not-for-profit organizations and service providers.
"This is really about connecting people with what we have available because I can tell you as a new MP I wasn't aware of a lot of the services we have in the county and so really just letting people know what's out there and that they can access these services," says Ramsey.
Ramsey says they hope to hold events like this on a regular basis throughout Essex County.
