Catching aggressive drivers on Hwy. 401 is a whole lot easier for the Ontario Provincial Police with their CESSNA 206 fixed wing aircraft.
Police say in less than two hours, the OPP in Essex County and Chatham-Kent pulled over 12 vehicles targeted by officers in the aircraft.
That includes the drivers of eight commercial vehicles who were charged with following too closely and three drivers charged with speeding. One of the drivers was allegedly clocked at more than 170 km/h and is now charged with stunt driving.
Another commercial vehicle driver was given a roadside screening test and received a warning and a three-day license suspension.
