The Town of Lakeshore is moving forward with a $1.2-million design for the new West Beach Jetty in Lakeview Park.
The jetty will be 150 m long and 3 m wide with resting nodes and lookouts along the way.
Engineer Dan Krutsch says the design hasn't changed a lot since the environmental assessment was approved earlier this year.
"I think it started off being a functional feature just from more of a beach safety and coastal perspective but now it's turning into an amenity that will be used in multiple ways," says Krutsch.
A final public meeting on the design will be held July 6. Construction is expected to start in September and be complete before the new year.
