Essex Councillor Randy Voakes has been removed from the town's Committee of Adjustment.
Councillor Larry Snively made a motion at Tuesday night's council meeting after Voakes did not attend three meetings in a row.
Snively says they've almost had to cancel meetings because of lack of quorum.
'What happens if we don't have quorum there, there's a cost to it for staff. Then you have the public coming in with their applications and we can't have the meeting, we don't have quorum and we don't have enough people with experience to make a decision," says Snively.
Councillor Randy Voakes was not in attendance at Tuesday's council meeting.
Councillor Sherry Bondy volunteered to act on the committee to fill the vacancy.
