Police in LaSalle want to hear from the public after two arsons at the Essex Golf and Country Club in the past three weeks.
The first was the night of July 27, when someone tried to set fire to a small wooden shed, which is used as a lifeguard hut and storage shed. The suspect filled a water bottle with charcoal lighter fluid and used it as a molotov cocktail.
Investigators later found the water bottle, a lighter fluid bottle and a red handkerchief at the scene.
There was some minor damage to the shed's roof and scorch marks on the side of the structure.
The second fire was set this past Saturday, just before 4:30am. An on-duty worker at the club saw several flashes of light coming from the snack bar area near the pool and called the fire department.
The fire was contained to the women's washroom.
Fire officials found a gas can inside the washroom and later concluded the suspect poured gasoline around the area before lighting the blaze.
Police think the suspect may have suffered burns or scorching to their hands and face, and singed their hair and clothing. Afterwards, they would have had a strong burning odour.
