Labour Day Open and Closed for Windsor-Essex

With Labour Day being the unofficial end of summer, many institutions will have altered hours for the holiday Monday.

All federal, provincial and municipal offices will be closed Monday, September 4, with no Canada Post delivery.

The Service Ontario website will be up but all offices will be closed Labour Day, as will all Ontario Early Years Centres.

All LCBO outlets and Beer Store locations will be closed on Monday.

Devonshire Mall will be open Monday from 11am to 6pm, while Tecumseh Mall will be open noon to 5pm. Windsor Crossing outlet mall will be open 10am to 6pm.

In the city of Windsor, the 311 call centre will be closed Labour Day, while the 211 service will be operating 24 hours. All community centres, arenas and customer care centres in Windsor will be closed with the exception of pre-arranged rentals.

Residential garbage, yard waste and recyclable collection in Windsor normally done on Monday will be delayed a day. Commercial garbage collection will take place as usual. The public drop-off centre at Central and EC Row in Windsor will be closed Labour Day.

Public outdoor pools in Windsor will be open Monday from 1:30 to 4:30pm, and Sandpoint Beach is open from 1pm to 7pm, weather and water quality permitting. Indoor pools will be closed with the exception of the Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre, which will be open 10am to 4pm for adult fit lanes and open adult swim. Adventure Bay Family Water Park will be open 10am to 4pm.

There will be no parking enforcement in Windsor on Monday and all traffic fine payment offices will be closed. Fine payment can be done online with the E-Services tab at the city's official website.

Transit Windsor buses and the tunnel bus to Detroit will run on a Sunday and holiday schedule.

All branches of the Windsor Public Library and the Essex County Library will be closed Labour Day.

In Tecumseh, there will be no transit bus running, though yard waste will be collected as usual. Tecumseh Arena will be open for previously-scheduled rentals.

The Atlas Tube Centre in Lakeshore will be closed Monday.
