As the cleanup continues in Houston, Texas after Hurricane Harvey, a Walkerville theatre is hosting a benefit concert to help residents.
The Hurricane Harvey Relief Concert features The Tragically Hip cover band The Fanatically Hip. The doors at the Olde Walkerville Theatre open at 7:30pm Saturday.
Hurricane Harvey was the first major hurricane to make landfall in the U.S. since Wilma in 2005. Over four days, many areas received more than 1,000mm or 40 inches of rain causing catastrophic flooding in Houston. With peak accumulations of over 1,300mm or 51 inches of rain, Harvey is the wettest tropical storm on record in the U.S.
Hundreds of thousands of homes were flooded, and more than 30,000 people were displaced. Emergency services made 17,000 rescues.
Tickets can be purchased online or by contacting the Olde Walkerville Theatre.
