Driver, Passenger Flee Scene Of Amherstburg Crash

Police area looking for two people who fled the scene of a two-vehicle crash in Amherstburg.

The Amherstburg Police Service says on Friday around 4:50pm, a gray 2000 Pontiac Grand Am traveling south struck an eastbound white 2016 Jeep Cherokee at at County Rd. 9 (Howard Ave.) and County Rd. 10 (Middle Side Rd.).

The driver of the Jeep was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A man and a woman who were in the Pontiac fled the crash, and were last seen heading towards Fox Glen Golf Course. Witnesses reported seeing the pair being picked up by a newer four-door charcoal gray Ford Fusion, which took off heading north on Howard Ave. towards Windsor.

The man is described as being white, in his mid to late 20s, clean shaven, with a thin build, blonde brush cut, and tattoos on his neck. He was also wearing black clothing.

The woman is described as white, in her mid 20s, around 5'5"tall , with a medium build, and medium length reddish brown curly hair.  She was also wearing black clothing.
