Windsor Dogs Invited To Play Dress Up On Halloween

Dog owners in Windsor looking to get into the Halloween spirit can dress up their pooches at a costume party benefiting local animal shelters.

Janisse Funeral Home is hosting its first Howloween Hound Costume Party on Halloween, Tuesday. The party will run from 3pm to 6pm.

At the event, there will be a contest with prizes and awards for the funniest costume, most original costume, and best owner and dog costume. Representatives from the Second Chance Animal Rescue and the Windsor-Essex County Humane Society will act as the judges for the competition. Judging begins at 5pm.

Families can also enjoy a barbecue, refreshments, games, treat bags for kids in costume, and a pet-friendly bake sale. Photography will also be available for guests to take home a memento from the night.

A $5 donation per dog is required to enter the competition. All proceeds will go towards the Second Chance Animal Rescue and the Windsor-Essex County Humane Society. Refreshment donations will support the Arbor Memorial Foundation.

Janisse Funeral Home is located at 1139 Ouellette Ave. in Windsor.
