Windsor Police Investigate Jewellery Store Robbery

Windsor police are looking into a robbery at an east end jewellery store.

It happened Friday afternoon at the E & C Jewelers in the Zehrs Plaza on Tecumseh Rd. E near Lauzon Pkwy. Police say the suspect entered the store waving what appeared to be a gun, smashed a display case, took an unspecified amount of jewellery and then ran away.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a white male, 30 to 40 years old, 5'10" tall with a thin build.  He was wearing a dark blue jacket, a dark blue baseball cap and a white scarf, with a white rim around his shoes.

The Greater Essex County District School Board confirmed that Roseville Public School was put into "hold and secure" mode, but that has since been lifted.

Police have released an image of the suspect from the store's security camera.

Anyone with information who hasn't yet spoken with police is asked to call the Windsor Police Service at (519) 255-6700. Anonymous tips can be called into Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477) or online.
