City Bends Rules To Accommodate Christmas Garbage

If you are like most people and have a lot of garbage after Christmas, the City of Windsor wants to help out.

The city has suspended its hard-sided container rule temporarily. Residents will be allowed to put out two extra bags of garbage.

Residents are asked not to place them on top of their hard-sided containers at the curb.

The change in the rules does not include furniture, appliances, electronics, loose material, or household chemical waste. Officials also urge residents to recycle wrapping paper and boxes instead of putting them in the trash.

The hard-sided container rule goes back into effect January 8.
