Flu Outbreak At WRH Met Campus

Windsor Regional Hospital is now experiencing a flu outbreak at the Met campus.

The hospital has declared an outbreak with two hospital acquired cases of influenza B on 6N. Officials say at least two staff members have also been impacted by the outbreak.

The unit will remain open to new admission but with limited transfers. Patients on the ward who are showing symptoms will be confined to their rooms as much as possible and will have to wear a mask if they move outside their bed space.

All the patients are being offered Tamiflu, an anti-viral medication used to treat influenza A and B.

Visitors will be allowed but will be limited to two per patient.

The hospital previously declared an outbreak on the 7th floor of Ouellette Campus.
