UPDATE: All Clear Given In Windsor Package Investigation

Windsor police say a suspicious package has been deemed safe.

Officers responded to a call around 9:15am Monday at the parking lot of Central Mall, at Tecumseh Rd. E. and Central Ave.

According to a tweet from Windsor police, a section of the parking lot near the Metro grocery store was closed off while police investigated a package that was left there.

A Windsor police bomb unit was called in as a precaution to examine the parcel.

The parking lot was completely reopened about three-and-a-half hours later after police determined there was no danger.

Traffic was never shut down in the area though vehicles were noticed slowing down to view the police presence.

The investigation is ongoing.
