Major Road Work Starts On Tecumseh Rd. E In Windsor

If Tecumseh Rd. E is on your daily commute, you might want to make other plans.

A major project will reduce Tecumseh Rd. to one lane each way between Hall Ave. and Turner Rd. for the next 16 weeks.

City engineer Mark Winterton says the project is extensive.

"The water main people [Windsor Utilities Commission] are going to do a renewal of the water main first. And then, we'll follow up. We're going to do a reconstruction of the curb lanes and then we're going to mill and pave the centre lanes," Winterton tells BlackburnNews.com.

Getting underway April 3, another project on Tecumseh Rd. E could also impact your drive. Winterton says the bridge over Little River, just east of Lauzon Rd. will be rehabilitated.

Winterton says as we get into the traditional construction season, there will be projects popping up across the city.

"We're putting together all of our tenders now. They're starting to come out. We're finishing up projects from last year," says Winterton. "We're not going to be on the expressway. We'll be on the collector lanes of the expressway this year."
